A cost page is only worth as much as its sourcing. This is how the figures here are produced, and what is deliberately left out.

How the figures are put together

Costs are taken from operator listings, park authorities and booking platforms at the time of writing, then cross-checked against more than one source before publication. Where a price moves with season, the range is given rather than a single flattering number. Every figure carries the month it was checked, because safari pricing changes and a cost page without a date is worth very little.

Amounts are given in euros unless a supplier prices only in dollars or rand, in which case the original currency is shown alongside. Flight comparisons use several European departure hubs rather than one city, since the same trip can differ by hundreds of euros depending on where you fly from.

Where a figure is weak, it says so

Not every number is equally well sourced. Some come straight from a park authority's own fee schedule; others rest on secondary reporting because the primary document is not published. Where that is the case it is stated in the text rather than buried, and where sources conflict, both are given rather than the more convenient one.

The same applies to what cannot be established. If no supplier will state whether a service works in a particular place, the honest answer is that nobody says yes — not an assumption that silence means coverage.

What this is not

This is not a booking agency and there is no sponsored placement anywhere on this site. Some links are affiliate links, which means a commission may be earned at no additional cost to you, and every page carrying them says so. Recommendations are made on what the research supports, including recommending against products where that is the honest answer, and including cases where the right advice is to do a thing yourself for free rather than pay someone to do it.

Where a partner is not a reasonable option for the trip in question, it is left out rather than recommended.
