Plain version: some links here earn a commission, it costs you nothing extra, and it does not decide what gets recommended.

What an affiliate link is

Some outbound links on this site and in the paid guide are affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to buy something, this publication may receive a commission from the seller. The price you pay is the same either way — the commission comes out of the seller's margin, not out of your pocket.

Where they appear

Affiliate links may appear alongside tours and multi-day trips, accommodation, car rental, travel insurance, connectivity such as eSIM plans, flights, and gear. Any individual page that carries them states so at the top. Pages that carry none say nothing, because there is nothing to disclose.

What it does not change

Recommendations are made on what the research supports. That includes recommending against a product, leaving a partner out entirely where it is not a reasonable option for the trip, and saying when you can do something yourself for free rather than paying an intermediary. There is no sponsored placement on this site, and no partner has been given editorial input.

Where a service takes a percentage of something you would otherwise receive in full, that percentage is stated in the text.
